Delivery of alcohol is not illegal but for selling the same there must be license provided by the state government Many liquor shops in Delhi takes orders but those are licensed and hence they are permitted to do the same. Online purhase or delivery otherwise is illegal only if the dealer has no permit or license for the same.
Is Home delivery of Beer / Wine allowed within Delhi ?
I tried reading the Excise Act and Excise Rules of Delhi but could not find anything allowing or not allowing it directly. 1. Can a licensed Liquor vendor/shop/store provide Home Delivery of Beer and Wine within Delhi ? Point to note is that I am speaking about Beer sold by a Vendor in Delhi and also delivered to the customer in Delhi and nothing inter-state 2. Can someone on behalf of someone else purchase Liquor and deliver it to them ? 3. In case #1 (delivery) is allowed, can the licensed wine shop/store hire a 3rd party delivery service to make the delivery instead of its own employee?
