TSRTC is a company about transportation which is owned by the state. The main goal of this company is provide services related to transportation in the newly constituted state of India, called Telangana. Hence, the full form TSRTC is “Telangana State Road Transport Corporation”. This state has recently got separated from the state called Andhra Pradesh. Hence they decided to start their own transportation service for the state and named it TSRTC.
At present, this company provides services to more than 9.2 million passengers each day and they have three main zones and the services are getting operated in ninety four different depots. Passenger Schemes
Many different concessional schemes regarding the passengers are operated by the TSRTC on the basis of the age group and the purpose of the trip made by the passenger. Some of those schemes will be explained in the following passages.
Navya CAT Card
The full form of the Navya CAT Card is Navya Concessional Annual Travel Card. It was mainly introduced in the month of March of 2013. This card charges passengers only Rs 250 annually and the fee for renewal is Rs 100 per card. The compensation the government pays for the newly made card is Rs 1.75 lakhs and Rs 2 lakh for the cards that are renewed. It offers another option called “Add on Card” for only Rs 100 and it can cover up to four members at maximum. They are oneself, the spouse and two children. If the child is a daughter, she has to be unmarried to avail this option.
Vihari Card
This card has been introduced in order to replace the CGC, JHT and the IJHT. The tariff set for the Vihari card is Rs 610 and with the help of this card, the owner can travel to anywhere in the state no matter how many times he travels. This also includes the state to state travel where the owner only has to pay half of the total fare for each journey. This card can also be canceled and it has to be done before the 00:00 hours before the commencement of the trip. If the cancellation is done right at the time of the validity, then there is a refund of Rs 475.
Vanitha Family Card
The families which belong to the “White Ration Card” are eligible to obtain the Vanitha Family Card. Keeping in mind about the “white ration card” families, this card was implemented in order to provide a choice of cheaper transport to those families. After the details of the ration card are provided, this card can be obtained for Rs 100. There is an option of “Add on Card” as well which can be availed for Rs 20 taka per head.
Silver Card
The validity of the silver card lasts for only about 20 days. This card is normally provided to the Express or the Pallevelugu types of transport. Keeping slabs for 5 kilometers, the card owners are allowed to travel in a range of 75 kilometers. However, there is no child option for this kind of ticket.
Travel as you like Ticket
This card is mainly aimed towards the people of Warangal, Secunderabad and Hyderabad. They can travel to any place in the limits of the suburbs within a span of twenty four hours for just Rs 80. The accommodation has to be a non-air-conditioned bus. To avail a fully air conditioned bus, the price of the card will be Rs 160.
Accommodation Linked Tickets to Shirdi
With this ticket, the passenger can journey from the city of Hyderabad to that of Shirdi with a price so low that it can also help to avail an accommodation in the city of Shirdi. Because of this card, the passenger can have a relaxing trip without the added tension of getting an accommodation in the latter city.
Online Passenger Reservation System
The Online Passenger Reservation System is known as OPRS in short. The passengers are provided with an OPRS user identity and a password through their mobile phone or internet with which they can book travel tickets to any place online through the aforementioned website as provided by the TSRTC. Payment by the passenger can be conducted via credit cards, or the debit cards or simply net banking. An SMS will confirm the booking of the ticket done by the passenger. At the time of boarding the transportation, the SMS containing the E-ticket can be displayed.
Round Trip Concession
The person availing this service will receive a concession of 10 percent for every round trip in any air-conditioned transport system.
Flexi Fares
The flexi fare is for the air-conditioned vehicles exclusively, that go on a journey from the city of Hyderabad to the city of Pune and then from the city of Mumbai back to Hyderabad.
- Mumbai to Hyderabad is Rs.1800 on Friday and Rs.1200 on any other days.
- Hyderabad to Mumbai is Rs.1800 on Sunday and Rs.1200 on any other days.
- Pune to Hyderabad is Rs.150 added to the actual fare on Friday.
- Hyderabad to Pune: Rs.150 added to the actual fare on Sunday.
TSRTC Bus Fare Schemes
