Society Registration Act, 2001 for Andhra Pradesh

According to the Society Registration Act, 2001 for Andhra Pradesh, the society has to get their registration done from the concerned authority – Registrar of Firms – right at the time of formation and provide the application. It is better to perform the registration for the society in the state in which the society is located or proposed for convenience. A society has to comprise of minimum 7 or more individuals and there must be at least 3 members of the Executive Committee.

 

Goal of the Registration of the Society

The goal of the society should be to perform charitable works in the sectors of sports, music, culture, religion, art, education, philosophy and so on, for their own benefit and development. Not only that, it should also aim to propagate proper knowledge for the education in politics and other charitable works.

Selecting an Acceptable Name for the Society

While deciding on the name of the society, the founders have to make sure that the name is not same as any existing society which has already been registered as per the rules of the Societies Act of 1860, since similar names are not allowed according to this act. They have to come up with a unique and non-identical name. Moreover, the name of the society must not appeal to any political power in the hopes of getting provision since it is forbidden according to the Emblem and Names Act of 1950. The name of the society must suggest any form of patronage of the government.

 

If the society gets permission from the State Government, they can use the following words in their names – Chartered, Municipal, State or Union, Reserve Bank, Land Development, Co-operative and so on.

In order to make the registration, the societies have to pay a fee of Rs 200 in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Along with the Memorandum of Association and the Bye-Laws for the registration of the society, an affidavit is a specified format has to be submitted in the application.

 

How to perform Society Registration Online

The applicant can easily apply for society registration online by following the steps given below.

 

Step 1: Visit the homepage of the Registration and Stamps Department of the Andhra Pradesh State Government

Step 2: Click on the option called the “Registration of Society” (you can find it under the Section 3) from the home page. Clicking on it will re-direct you to the following page.

 

Type in the Details of the Applicant

Step 3: Enter all the necessary details of the applicant in the specified areas. Such as:

  • Name
  • Surname
  • Gender
  • UID, Aadhar
  • Address
  • Details of contact

 

Details of the Society

Step 4: To fill up the details of the society, type in the following in the specified areas

  • Name
  • Meeting of General Body
  • Address of the office of the Society

After that, from the drop down menu, choose the category called “Society”

Step 5: Enter the name of the district where the registration will be taking place

 

Uploading the Required Documents

Step 6: All the documents mentioned earlier in this article has to be submitted to the registrar along with the form of application and the affidavit by uploading the scanned soft copied. Enter the name of the documents and click on the option called “Choose File” to upload those documents.

 

Save the Details

Step 7: Click on the option called “Save Draft”. Before you make the payment and the submission, make sure to check if you have filled up all the information and provided all the important documents.

 

Payment and Submission of the Application

Step 8: After you have ensured that all the information is given accordingly, click on the option called “Pay and Submit”.  After the payment is done successfully, the application for the society registration will be sent to the concerned authority.

 

All the updated and latest information related to the registration of firms are maintained at the office of the registrar. After properly reviewing the application for the society registration, the concerned authority of registration will decide to approve the application. After the registration is complete, the copies of the Memorandum of Associations and the set of Rules and Regulations (Bye-Laws) of the Society will be certified and issued.

 

How to Search for the Certified Documents (MOA) of the Society

To search for the MOA or the certified documents of your society, firstly visit the website of the Registration and Stamp Department. Once there, select the option called Certified Copy of the Society. After that, type in the following details.

  • Number of the registration of the society
  • Name of the Society
  • District of the registration
  • Year of the registration

Finally, select the button called “search” to look for the document.

How to Search for the Bye-Law Document of your Society

To search for the Bye-Law documents of your society, firstly visit the website of the Registration and Stamp Department. After that, enter the following details.

  • Number of the registration of the society
  • Name of the Society
  • District of the registration
  • Year of the registration

Finally, click on the option called “search” to search for the Bye-Law Document.

 

How to check the Status of the Application

To check the status of the application, firstly visit the website of the Registration and Stamp Department. After that, choose the option called “Status of the Application” from the home page and type in the reference number of the application. Finally, click on the button called Submit and you can check the status.
