Rajasthan ration card is a versatile authorized document allotted by the Government of the respective state. Rajasthan Food and Civil Supplies Department issues Rajasthan ration card to the citizens of the state. The holder of the card experiences many benefits but the most important service provided to the holders is offering all subsidies delivered by the State Government.

Identity Proof
The ration card functions as the identity proof of the holder of the card as it is linked to the Aadhaar card and consecutively with the bank account, thus used as the evidence of the holder’s identity.

The ration card functions as the verified identity by the Rajasthan Government and also serves as the address proof containing details of all the family members of the holder.

Subsidies from the Government
The ration card holders obtain subsidies (food items and commodities) by the Rajasthan Government. The PDS (Public Distribution System) offers the basic needed food items and commodities at a low price. Food grains, wheat, rice, fertilizer, LPG, kerosene oil, fortified atta and levy sugar are counted in PDS items. Non-PDS items include localized wash salt and tea.

Required Documents for applying for Rajasthan Ration card
Following are the documents required while applying for a Ration Card:

Eligibility criteria to apply for Rajasthan ration card
- Possession of a ration card by the applicant applying for a new ration card will not be entailed.
- Recently married couples in Rajasthan can apply for a new ration card.
- Applicants owning temporary ration cards and expired cards can apply for a new card.
Within 30 days of submitting the application, the new ration card will be received by the applicant.
e-Mitra centre – Applying for Ration card
Rajasthan ration card can be applied through the e-Mitra centre. The procedure for the same is given below:
Step 1: Applicants need to fill the following details in the application form – Name, address, family details, Details of Gas connection, and Information of Bank account.
Step 2: Applicants need to attach any recent passport sized photograph in the application form.
Step 3: Submit all the required documents along with the application form at your nearest e-Mitra centre.
Step 4: Applicant will receive a receipt from the service centre. Ration card can be collected along with the receipt after the application is ratified by the concerned authority.
Application for Rajasthan ration card through e-Mitra can be done by the ONLINE method as well. Procedure for the same is given below:
Step 1: Go to the e-Mitra official webpage online.
Step 2: Click on Login option. You will be redirected to the Rajasthan SSO page.
Step 3: New users can register themselves by using the registration option on the Rajasthan SSO webpage. Specify your email id to register yourselves. The Government employee can give the email provided by the Government to them.
Step 4: Login to the SSO page. Click on the ration card application in the menu. Fill all the required details in the application.
Step 5: Upload all the documents required after saving the details.
Step 6: Click on Submit option for the submission of the application.
The status of your Rajasthan ration card application can be checked through Food and Civil Department official website.
Ration card – Alteration in the card
Alteration of the name in the ration card can be done by following steps:
- Submission of an application form along with all the documents is required for the alteration in the ration card.
- For the modification in the address in the card, a genuine reason is required to mention clearly.
- For adding a name, provide all the details of the new family member.
- For deleting a name from the ration card, mention the name of the person in the specified column.
- Submit the form along with all the necessary documents at the nearest e-Mitra centre. The service operation will provide the receipt after the submission of the form.
- Collect the corrected ration card from the Ration card office.
