- GSTR1 is a monthly return that is to be filed by each and every registered dealer. It mainly contains the detail of all the sales made by the dealer.
Steps for getting a GSTR 1
- Once you have filled in your Email id, a GSTR 1 form will be sent to your inbox for download
- Create excel files after exporting data from your accounting software
- Fill data in the Excel Templates
- Import templates and your GSTR 1 will be automatically prepared
Note: Deadline of filing GSTR 1 form for July extends to 10th of September.

How and When To Use Excel Templates
Note: We have tried to explain all the templates of each column to give you a better understanding of the information you might need to provide alongside sample values and instructions while filing your GST1 forms.
Excel Templates for Sales Documents:
01 – Sales Invoice and Bill of Supply: Provide all the required information in the template to ensure all invoice records supplied for your taxable and non-taxable goods and services such as sales invoices, bill of supply, invoices for export, sales that attract a reverse charge, etc.
02 – Outward Credit Debit Note: Give record of all credit and debit notes against the sales invoices into the template.
03 – Outward Advance Receipts: Record all the advance receipts received against the invoice awaiting to be issued in the template.
Excel Templates for Purchase Documents:
04 – Purchase Invoice and Bill of Supply: Fill into the template record of all invoices your supplier has issued for your taxable and non-taxable inward supplies of goods and services which may include purchase invoices, bill of supply, import invoices, and purchases that attracts a reverse charge.
05 – Inward Credit and Debit Note: Record all credit and debit notes against invoices of purchase and bill of supply issued by your supplier into the template.
06 – Inward Advance Payments: Record all the advance payments made against invoice that is yet to be raised.
