CHECKING YOUR EPFO CLAIM STATUS | Company Vakil

The Employment Provident Fund Organisation is a social security and salaried scheme available to salaried individuals. The advent of the EPFO  claim status online tool has made it easier for an individual to check the status of his claims. EPFO is developing with the latest technology, as governmental procedures become increasingly digitalised. There is no requirement to visit EPFO offices to check the status of one’s claim.

FINDING CLAIM STATUS.

To claim one’s funds, a request has to be raised before the EPFO. To know the status of a claim the following details and documents must be known:

  1. Universal Account Number
  2. EPF regional office of the employer
  3. Company Name
  4. Extension code

The below mentioned steps need to be followed while checking ones EPFO claim status online:

STEP 1

Go to the EPFO online website and Select Our Services > For Employees.

STEP 2

Click on Know Your Claim Status.

STEP 3

Enter the UAN and enter the captcha code.

STEP 4

Enter the following information

  1. Enter the state of your Provident Fund Office
  2. From the drop-down menu, select your Provident Fund Office
  3. Enter the establishment code
  4. Enter your Provident Fund account number

STEP 5

Click on Submit to check the status of your claim

EPFO also provides SMS alerts to the mobile number of the applicant if it is linked to the account of the applicant. This may happen in either of the two instances:

  1. On receipt of claim application
  2. On transfer of funds to claimants bank account

The EPFO claim status can also be checked using the SMS service. In order to avail this facility, the individual must have an UAN and be registered on the Unified Portal.

Another way to check the status is giving a missed call on the number 011-22901406 from the mobile number registered on the UAN portal.
